Heads up!

Next week -
Introduction to our Year-end plays! Don't miss class, you'll want to know what's up.

A little 'taster' : -

There is a washed-out Circus, some mutineering Pirates, trouble in an Egyptian museum, a spooky house on a rainy night, and true love triumphs over all!

It's going to be epic!

When you wear bubble-wrap to drama

Dress up days can be fun...but sometimes the costumes wear the actor! :)

Totally wrapped up!

The bubble wrap saga!

Free at last!!!

Germs come in all shapes and sizes!

Movement to music week. Germs everywhere!

Here are some of the best pics.

You don't HAVE to dress up to make good 'germs'! :)

But Monday studio did look the coolest!

Paret Day Presentations!

At the end of Term Two all our classes perform a Parent Day Presentation. A presentatio of a cross-section of the skills learned so far in the year.

This year as always, we had enormous fun performing verbal dynamic peices, snippets, structured scenes and improvisations.

Term three brings the beginnings of our Year End Play productions - an exciting time!

Start up next week 18th July! See everyone back at class.

Dress-up days...our favourite!

Kid's love the chance to dress-up!  We have several opportunities in each term to have fun, easy, dress-up days.  Here we did an improvisation called "The Sleep-over".  You wouldn't believe the array of PJ's, slippers....and TEDDY BEARS!!  :)

I think they would all agree though, that the BEST part of the improvisation, was the PILLOW FIGHT!!

The crazy things we do at drama!

Where did these holidays go?  I've been preoccupied with my daughter leaving to join her husband in Oz, and now that she's gone, and I can catch a breath, the holiday is over!!

Well, we have lots to look forward to this term....a 10 day holiday a week in to the term (which really plays havoc with our academy term!) and PARENT DAY presentations at the end of this term! Am considering a Holiday Theater club again...but am way behind planning it.  Must get my team together (however will I replace Hayley???) and get started on it!

We always end off our first term with a Whacky Week....so here are some photos! :)

Youth Theater is always entertaining!

Resident Robert Downey Jnr fans....poor guy!

Ah Wednesday studio...Bless ya!

See you all next week!

This week we invited parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, to come along and join in class with us all.  The grown-ups learned first hand how our programme develops communication skills and improves self-confidence!

Year-end plays...2010 - a Great Year!

This year our choice of year-end plays was wonderfully diverse! A fabulous local play about how the lion got his roar; some tourists had some horrifying travel experiences; a starship thwarted a mutiny attempt; a long-time park worker retired, but not before his friends played a prank on him; and the Vampire world was in trouble!

Some pictures: -

Visit to New York Drama Kids

I was privileged to have been able to visit a class run by Drama Kids International, during a recent trip to New York. I had a great time with this class of 5 year olds!  Jonathan, their teacher, was enthusiastic and made me feel most welcome.  I told the class the story of how the lion got his roar, took a vuvuzela along, and they enjoyed learning to shout "Ayoba!"
